
A bit about me:
My name is Brit and I am an Academic Librarian who enjoys yoga, food, travelling and sailing.
Why I started this blog:
I wanted to write this blog to chronicle my journey to vegetarianism. I have decided to make this lifestyle change and think others may be interested as well, since I am going from complete omnivore to mostly herbivore.
I already enjoy posting pictures of my food creations on Instagram and have been asked why I don't have a food blog to go along with it. So I thought, why not start a food blog as I start my journey.
I chose the name 'Loose Vegetarian' because I want to make it clear that I probably will never be 100% vegetarian (although you never know), but would strive to be 'mostly' vegetarian. And when I do eat meat/fish I will strive to only eat meat from animals that are treated properly, locally raised and not pumped full of antibiotics and growth hormones.
The reasons I will be a "loose vegetarian" are:
a) I love meat and so will want to indulge in it on occasion
b) I will still be making meat dishes for others
c) I don't want to be an annoying guest by making people cook separate meals for me
d) I don't want to be limited to vegetarian dishes at restaurants that don't have a good selection
I hope you will enjoy my blog and that I can inspire others either to choose a healthy lifestyle or just to make some of the recipes from my blog!
What you will find in this blog
The focus will be on vegetarian and vegan foods, however I still will include some non-vegetarian dishes that I really love.
I will also have a page of photographs I have taken and will randomly post about non-food related things, such as travel and yoga!
